After a nice lunch in the sun, we walked around a bit more in Old Chelsea, and then we drove down to Aylmer. I took some pictures of different old buildings, I don't know what it is, but I love old doors and widows... well, I love a lot of old things.

old places, getting away and new things
Ink & watercolour, drawing of our day out. I just love old weathered things, how time and elements have given a wonderful look and feel to things. Like this old ships wheel.
The last day my mother-in-law was here visiting, we went driving up to a small (very small) village Old Chelsea in the Gatineau Hills (Quebec). We walked around the village, looked at art in a gallery and after that we saw a really neat house with different upholstery fabrics (curtains and cushions outside) and we saw this really neat bench. Its made out of two antique headboards, now how cute is that... Of course I would would love to have that, no idea where we would fit it. The lady who made this and all the cushions, is Manon LeBlanc owner of Old Chelsea Slipcover Co. She invited us down to her studio and showed us her work (beautiful work and studio), and we talked awhile and it ended up with her giving me a huge bag of fabric remnants.

And here is a few more pictures from our day away... Mystique cider, well yes, I had to take a picture of a bottle with cider. Not only was it a really good cider, but look at that label, so cute.
