But good news is that when Lindsay has good days, we enjoy them to the fullest and one of them happen to fall same day as the opening for the Ottawa Tulip Festival. After yet another doctors appointment, Lindsay and I drove down town and after a long search for a place to park the car I found a spot and it happen totally out of pure luck (its almost an impossible task in Ottawa to find a spot and especially during festivals), we went for a lovely walk feasting our eyes on all the wonderful tulips and sniffing away and taking pictures.
The most famous area for tulips is down by a place called Dows Lake, and here they have an amazing selection of every kind of tulip you can imagine. And of course the place is packed with tourists and locals alike, in fact I never seen it this busy with people before and everyone armed with cameras (odd thing is that I only saw one artist out painting this time).
This purple and white tulip was Lindsay's favourite, purple and violet is her new colours she likes. I liked the colour combination in the first picture, I just cant get enough of yellows, oranges and reds together, and with the white in there too, it looked brilliant.
This year, I noticed a new addition to the tulips, they have added other bulbs to the flower beds, and the colour combinations and not to mention the heavenly scents, were just breath taking.
Lindsay really enjoyed her self and of course wanted me to take pictures of her with the flowers.
I just love it when she is feeling well and is enjoying her self.
And because of how our lives have been this past weeks (months really), I haven't had much time to draw or paint. But I finally drew some tulips that I saw in a blog that I enjoy to follow, it belongs to Annika Christensen and she is a fantastic gardener living in south of Sweden. And Annika was kind enough to let me use her picture for this (I asked her when we still had ton of snow on the ground here and I was longing for fresh tulips, and her picture was so beautiful)... Tusen tack Annika!!!!
