the Ups & Downs....

Do you remember my idea for my little drift wood pieces?? Well, it all looked gran on paper and I really liked how the sketches turned out, but then I started to transfer my idea and plan on to the drift wood...  And it turned out to a Huge Driftwood Flop!!!!  I really hate how they turned out *Ugh*

And it was bothering me to no end...

So instead of putting on my thinking cap, I put on my thinking eye patch  Arrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!  And I walked around in circles in my work space and looked around trying to find what that was that I was missing...  Finally I looked over at my big table and that was still in a big mess from the last weekend when Lindsay a.k.a Ariel the mermaid I made those stamps {she loves the little mermaid movie and the dolls and anything about it}...  And then it hit me *Stamps*...  more stamps and I also had to remember my second thing I have been telling my self lately *relax when I draw*

So off with the eye patch and of to work I went, and I came up with this little sail boat

I love it!!!!!  Just what I had searched for, there the treasure was right under my nose {the mess from last week}...  These are just the test prints and now I'm going to start printing them in acrylic instead so they stay water safe.  Question, is there ink pads that are water safe/proof or in permanent ink??

I was on a roll, and with my new love for steam boats, I had to make a few other tests stamps and see...  I need a few different designs with boats and anything else that goes with water.

And before I end this post, I wanted to share with you another picture I took outside.  I was cleaning up after dinner in our dining room, and I looked out and I saw the lilac tree leaves are starting to change and I like the pattern on them right now.  Hmmmmm, maybe for a future stamp?

Thank you so much for your comments to my last posts, and I know I always say this, that its a treat to read what you write.  And it truly is a treat, its fun to see what you think, ask questions or passing ideas to me.  But I also like to go back and see what you have done in your own blog and work.
So thank you again and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and may September bring you lots of inspiration for your creations.
