The thing about September

Its that time of the year again, days getting shorter and cooler and the trees are showing hints of fall... I love this time of the year, its fresh and the colours are so brilliant.

But September is the month of changes, harvest time, seed pods (one of my favorites), animals busy gathering and hiding food for the cold winter months to come...  I guess in a way we all starting to fix up our nests, making things warm and cozy.
I been cleaning up in my work space, of course getting side tracked and having fun...  I found the little acorns I picked up on one of my walks in August, I believe they are from an English Oak tree, so tiny and cute {note to self, windows need cleaning}.
Some of them look like little mini nests, so I cut out a little mini bird and stuck it inside...

Below is a picture I took of a leaf that had fallen in to a bowl with water, I liked the shadow it was casting on the bottom of the bowl {its a bowl that a gentleman puts out in the end of his drive way, its for all the thirsty neighbourhood dogs}.

I been out to different farmer markets and driving out to the country, so much to see...  I found this at one market stand, a blooming Artichoke {never seen it before}.  It has a lovely sweet scent to it.

September, is also a busy time for projects, art shows and sales.  I already have a few projects on the go {and lots more to come}, some include stamps and under that you can see a sketch I'm working on for a painting I want to do for a juried art show.

Now back to work : )

Happy nesting everyone!!!
