summer days & painting

While the boys are out on their annual male bonding canoe trip, us girls are here at home and we're putting our own decorating stamp to the house.  And when Lindsay is feeling good enough to get out, we go out and take advantage of the good weather and whats close by to home {she still cant be out for too long, after our last outing she was down for two days}.

We went down to the beach in the evening, it was cooler and less crowded.  We brought pick nick, drew a bit and then Lindsay decided that she had to explore the water and get soaked, and this is after she refused to put her bathing suit on and told me the water was cold...  Hmmmmmmm, but she was happy, I even heard her laugh and that's worth every drop : )

Lately I have been really drawn to graphic designs, and I'm playing around with ideas for my studio space.  Done very little sketching this past week, I'm just dead beat after painting walls, but I played around with some line sketching.

This one I did after chatting with a friend of mine who lives in UK, and she told me it had rained a lot.  We have had only one good rain storm in over a month, its bone dry here and we need rain really bad.  Again playing around with lines, thinking I would like to take this to something else...  We see!!

And, if I don't have enough to prime and paint in the main house, so after Lindsay goes to bed I sneak out to my studio and paint more...  Not painting paintings but walls {what else} and the big wood cabinet, and the cabinet is now finally done...  That one took forever to paint, but its done!!!  I painted it in a creamy white, and it looks fantastic now and it has that Scandinavian feel to it.

If all goes well, I can sneak back in there tonight and start working on where to place everything. Its a great space, but storage is minimal and I want/need to create my own storage and I want to do it without taking too much from the space in whole...  I have some ideas {brain notes} so we see how that goes.
