Sky high dreams

I'm not sure if you have felt regrets about not having done something in the past, but I know I have, and that is that I didn't take more pictures of the kids when they were smaller. Ever since he was able to talk, he would talk about airplanes and he is still talking about them. He built air crafts out of Lego, sticks, paper and turned other toys in to airplanes, later on he started to build models (his room is full of them, and its a lot of them... I know as I'm the one who is dusting them all).

Any how, back to my regret, and that is that I so wish I had taken pictures of him one Halloween. He had just turned five and he wanted to be a pilot for Halloween, so I built him a plane out of cardboard boxes and covered the whole thing in old camouflage fabric (took me forever, but it was fun)... And seeing his face when we showed it to him was just out of this world. My husband covered our sons bicycle helmet in the same fabric and put on goggles, we put a white scarf on him and we went out trick or treating. He had a great time, and he looked so cute.
I wish we had pictures of it, but we have great memories of that day... So I had to sketch it.

And here he is at 12, still in to planes and he was trying to fit in to a toy plane in a store, even made plane sounds... He would be so mad at me if he knew that I had this posted here (tee hee)
Now he is 17 going on 18, and the airplane and pilot dreams have not faded, but rather grown even bigger. He's in the Air Cadets, he has already flown in different planes, gone to flight camps and gliding... I have no doubt that before I know it, my boy will holding his pilot licence in his hand... In one way its sad to see them grow up so fast, but at the same time I have to say, what a ride it has been so far... Love it!
