food fights, buttons and lace

Now, don't get me wrong, this really looks good to eat and I love strawberries and blueberries, I love all fruits and most vegetables. But this last two weeks has been a very difficult week when it comes to food for me and for my daughter (thank heavens my son so far is okay). Both my daughter and I have been diagnosed with Complex Carbohydrate Intolerance (if anyone of you have ever heard or it or have it, can you please share recipes, I'm desperate to get some). Not only do we have to deal with food allergies, but now this on top of it all. And if that's not enough we are also Lactose intolerant... Meaning, it feels like it leaves us with not much to eat. We cant eat anything with wheat, root vegetables, pastas, corn or rice and a few other things. Oh what I would give right now to have a nice slice of fresh baked bread Mmmmmmmm.

So I have to take my mind of the food stuff, so thank heavens I have a few projects on the go. I'm going to do some children's art (for an upcoming art show/sale). And these buttons will be part in some of the things I'm going to do.

And this is antique lace I found in one of my very favourite stores in Ottawa. I got all the lace (and there is a lot of it) and the spools for a bargain price, I just cant wait to start sewing and using some of it in my mixed media pieces.
