new paint & book

Well, I guess after 23 + years, it was time to get some new watercolour paints. The case below has all the water colour paints that I bought in my first year in art college, and these paints have been amazing and lasted very long (some of the little cakes are still half full, and this after I have done a ton of work with them, including illustrated for 5 books). They are the best kind ever, amazing crisp colours (only need a small drop to get a ton of paint).
And I love my old case, and it has been with me all over the world, on canoe trips, mountain tops and class rooms... well you name it, they pretty much been there except the bath tub.

This picture I took last year when my husband and I went on our annual canoe trip up north
(that kind of explains the tree bark and moss).
Any hooo, below is my new colours and case (a new book as well). So I tried out the new paints and I'm not sure they will be like the old once *sigh*... and the case... hmmmmm

The new case is good as it can fit in to my purse or in my old case, but I will have to find the other once still... Its hard to find them here lose (one cake instead of in a set). All the new paint cakes are Winsor & Newton, Cotman. Cant wait for summer to come and pack it all with me again for our next canoe trip.
